There are many reasons why you may want to remove a player from your server, such as violating server rules, inappropriate behavior, inactivity or PvP abuse. As an administrator of your server, you have full control over who is playing on it and you can kick someone off your server temporarily or permanently. In this guide you will learn how to kick or ban players on a Minecraft server.

How to kick player
1. Open chat window
Press “T” key on your keyboard to open the chat window.
2. Enter kick command
Enter the command below into chat window, replacing “PlayerName” with the name of unwanted player.
/kick PlayerName
3. Press “enter” on your keyboard.
If kicking somebody didn’t fix the problem, you can ban somebody in two ways. In the first case you can ban player’s name, but unfriendly person can return from another account. In the second case, you can ban player’s IP, so that person won’t be able to join game from an alternative account.
How to ban player name
1. Navigate server console
Open server panel website in your website browser. Search for your Minecraft server on the server list and click on it to see server details. After clicking on Minecraft server bar you should be navigated to “Console” tab.
2. Enter command into server console
Once you are in a “Console” tab, you can enter appropriate command into console output. Enter the command showed below and remember to replace “PlayerName” with the name of unwanted player.
/ban PlayerName
3. Press enter to approve changes
You can check the list of banned players in your console output using this command:
/banlist
If blocking the name of a persistent player did not help and he continues to disturb the peace on your server using other accounts, you must use the final option of blocking his IP address.
