How to configure mating, breeding, taming and hatching multipliers on an ARK server

Header image

ARK: Survival Evolved is a game that allows players to survive in a dangerous prehistoric world full of dinosaurs. As an ARK server administrator, you have the ability to customize all gameplay parameters to meet the expectations of your player community. By editing files such as Game.ini and GameUserSettings.ini, you can influence key elements of the game, such as the taming speed of dinosaurs, their breeding rates and much more. In this guide, we will describe how to configure the parameters related to the processes of breeding and caring about your dinosaurs.

How to configure mating, breeding, taming and hatching multiplier

1. Go to the control panel and select your ARK server.

2. Access server files and follow this path:

/home/container/ShooterGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer

Here you will find two necessary configuration files, “Game.ini” and “GameUserSettings.ini”.

3. Enter the selected parameters into the configuration files. For example, it should look like this:

MatingSpeedMultiplier=0.5
MatingIntervalMultiplier=2.0
LayEggIntervalMultiplier=2.5
...

4. Save configuration file.

5. Go to the “Console” and restart your ARK server.

Server SettingDefault ValueFileDescription
MatingSpeedMultiplier1.0Game.iniDetermines the speed at which the mating process occurs. Higher values result in faster mating.
MatingIntervalMultiplier1.0Game.iniDetermines the time interval between mating sessions. Higher values increase the waiting time between mating attempts.
TamingSpeedMultiplier1.0GameUserSettings.iniDetermines the speed at which creatures are tamed. Higher values make the taming process faster.
LayEggIntervalMultiplier1.0Game.iniDetermines the frequency at which dinosaurs lay eggs. Higher values mean longer intervals between egg-laying.
EggHatchSpeedMultiplier1.0Game.iniDetermines the speed at which eggs hatch. Higher values make eggs hatch faster.
BabyMatureSpeedMultiplier1.0Game.iniDetermines the speed at which baby dinosaurs mature. Higher values accelerate the maturation process.
BabyImprintAmountMultiplier1.0Game.iniDetermines the amount of imprinting a baby dinosaur receives per interaction (cuddle). Higher values increase the amount of imprinting per interaction.
BabyCuddleGracePeriodMultiplier1,0Game.iniDetermines the grace period in which a baby dinosaur can be cuddled for imprinting without losing imprint quality. Higher values extend this grace period.
BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier1.0Game.iniDetermines the interval between cuddle interactions for imprinting. Higher values increase the time between interactions.
BabyCuddleLoseImprintQualitySpeedMultiplier1.0Game.iniDetermines the speed at which a baby dinosaur loses imprint quality if not cuddled on time. Higher values result in faster loss of imprint quality.
BabyFoodConsumptionSpeedMultiplier1.0Game.iniDetermines the speed at which baby dinosaurs consume food. Higher values make babies eat faster.
