What is StoneBlock?

StoneBlock is an original and deeply satisfying skyblock-style modpack — but with a twist. Instead of starting on a floating island in a vast void, the entire world around you is made of solid stone. Gone are the days of digging through dirt and grass; here, you carve your way through dense layers of rock. From the very beginning, you’re given basic tools and must mine your way to survival, collecting cobblestone and gradually unlocking basic metals like copper and iron. As you progress, you'll build furnaces, machines, and eventually full-scale automation systems. Exploration exists, but in an unconventional sense — it happens underground. Once you reach a certain technological threshold, you can create portals to the Nether or End and continue your expansion. Even within the stone-filled world, there are hidden surprises like NPC huts, dungeons, and structures, proving you're not confined to a single cavern. Over time, you’ll sculpt entire settlements from stone — complete with ceilings, walls, and everything you'd expect in an industrial survival challenge.

Progression in StoneBlock is guided by an achievement book, which acts as both a checklist and an informal tutorial. It walks players through every major step — from crafting their first machines to defeating the Ender Dragon — making it especially helpful for newcomers who may be unsure of where to start. The modpack heavily emphasizes technology and automation. Once past the early game, you’ll design intricate machine systems to process resources automatically. You can run entire power farms based on solar panels, coal generators, or even nuclear reactors — all deep within your underground domain, without a single blade of grass in sight. As your systems grow, so does your base — not out into the sky, but deep into stone, forming tunnels, chambers, and multi-level facilities. The result is a gritty, highly mechanical take on Minecraft that feels closer to a factory simulator than traditional sandbox gameplay.

StoneBlock also shines in multiplayer. Friends can collaborate on a massive shared base or carve out separate areas within the same stone world. Over time, these underground hubs evolve into fully functional cities with redstone architecture, storage systems, automated crafting lines, and shared power grids. Each player can focus on their own role — from mining and automation to exploration and trade. For those tired of traditional skyblock gameplay, StoneBlock offers a refreshing change: one that emphasizes depth (literally), progression, and immersive tech. Sure, there's not much greenery — but the rugged, industrial atmosphere of this modpack more than makes up for it. If you’re ready to dig deep, automate everything, and create your own subterranean empire, rent your own StoneBlock server today on Servers4Gamers and start mining your future.
