As a Squad server administrator, you have full access to server files, including configuration files. This allows you to modify nearly all server parameters, such as the password, server name, player count, number of reserved slots, automatic update settings and much more! In our control panel, you’ll find a quick configuration tab that lets you adjust the most important server variables in just a few moments. In this guide, we will explain how to configure your Squad server using our intuitive game server control panel.
How to configure server
1. Go to the control panel and select Squad server.
2. Navigate “Startup” tab and set basic parameters (described in the table below).
Variable | Default Value | Description |
Max Players | 10 | Set the maximum number of players on the server. This number can be reduced by the number of reserved slots if active. |
Allow Team Change | ON | Set whether to allow team changes. |
Advertise Server | ON | Set whether to allow the server to be displayed on the public server list. |
Reserved Slots | 0 | Set how many slots should be reserved for administrators. |
Prevent Team Change If Unbalanced | ON | Set whether to allow team changes if they are unbalanced. |
Record Demos | ON | Set whether to allow record demos. |
Server Name | default value | Set a name for the server. |
Auto-Update Server | ON | Set whether the server should update after each restart. |
3. If you want to change other server parameters, go to the server files (“Files” tab) and follow this path to find the main configuration file:
/home/container/SquadGame/ServerConfig/Server.cfg
4. After all changes restart your server.
