To ensure that your server appears in the list of available servers, it is necessary to provide an API key. This key serves as a unique identifier that allows your server to be recognized and displayed in the server list. To make this process easier, we have prepared a comprehensive guide describing the steps you need to follow to obtain and integrate the required API key:
1. Log in to official Factorio website
The official Factorio website is available at this link: https://factorio.com
If you don’t have an account on the Factorio website yet, create one now and log in to the website. There is also an option to log in using Steam if you connect your Steam account to your Factorio account.
2. Get your token for the Factorio server
Once you have created Factorio account and you are logged in, go to your profile website: https://factorio.com/profile
Here you can see your account details and get a token for a Factorio server. Click on “reveal” to make your Factorio token visible and copy it.
3. Navigate “Startup” tab
Once you have obtained and successfully copied your server token, it is time to add it to your server. Go to your server’s panel page. Find Factorio in the list of your servers – after clicking, you will be redirected to the “Console” tab. Go to the “Startup” tab where you can quickly configure your Factorio server.
4. Paste server token and username
Once you navigate to the “Startup” tab, you should find two windows – “SERVER TOKEN” and “SERVER USERNAME”. First, you need to paste your token into “SERVER TOKEN” window. When you finished, paste your Factorio username into “SERVER USERNAME” window.
5. Restart your server
After completing the previous steps, you need to confirm all changes made to the server. Go back to the “Console” tab and press the “Restart” button to reset your server.
