How to configure a Left 4 Dead 2 server

Configuration adapts server to individual needs of the owner and players. A person with access to server files can change almost all parameters, such as maximum number of players, password and many others.

If you want to configure your Left 4 Dead 2 server follow this guide:

Go to the server panel and stop your server, then select ‘Startup’ tab.

This tab contains the most important parameters of your server – you can change them without editing the configuration file. The table below shows all variables you can change in ‘Startup’ tab.

‘Startup’ tab contains only some variables – you can continue server configuration here: /home/container/left4dead2/cfg/server.cfg

server.cfg is main L4D2 configuration file in which you can paste cvars (full list here)

After all changes restart your server.
