Header image

Configuration adapts server to individual needs of the owner and players. A person with access to server files can change almost all parameters, such as maximum number of players, password and many others.

If you want to configure your Terraria tShock server follow this guide:

Go to the server panel and stop your server, then select ‘Startup’ tab.

This tab contains the most important parameters of your server – you can change them without editing the configuration file. The table below shows all variables you can change in ‘Startup’ tab.

Variable Default Value Description
World Size 1 Set world size for your server (1 = small, 2 = medium, 3 = large)
World Name world Change world name

Max Players 10 Set maximum number of players allowed on your server
Server Name default hostname Assign name for your server
Server Password Set server password
Difficulty 1 Set difficulty of your server (0 = normal, 1 = expert, 2 = master, 3 = journey)

The ‘Startup’ tab contains only some variables – you can continue configuring your server here: /home/container/tshock/config.json
