One of the key aspects of the game is the ability to play with friends on a dedicated server, where you, as an administrator, can customize many important gameplay elements. In this guide, we will explain how to set up basic elements of your server, such as server name, crossplay, public access, automatic updates and much more!
How to configure your server
Our intuitive control panel allows you to change several basic server settings with just one click! Follow these steps to learn how to do it:
1. Go to the control panel and go to the quick configuration tab (“Startup”).
2. Change selected parameters of your server.
3. Restart your server to confirm the changes.

Version | latest | Set Valheim+ version (this variable is not available in Valheim Vanilla) |
World Name | Dedicated | Set a name for your world files |
Auto Update | ON | Set whether you want your server to update automatically after each restart |
Server Name | default hostname | Set server name |
Server Password | secret | Set server password (cannot be left blank) |
Public | ON | Set whether you want your server to appear in the server list |
Max Players | 10 | Set maximum number of slots (by default, this value is 10 and cannot be changed unless you use BepInEx) |
