How to set spawn point on a Project Zomboid server

Header image

Spawn points define the locations where players appear when they first join a Project Zomboid server. Administrators can easily modify these points, tailoring the gameplay to the specific needs of their player community. For example, a spawn point can be set in a safe location, providing initial safety for players at the start of the game. Changing the coordinates of a spawn point requires editing various configuration files. In this guide, we will explain step-by-step how to change the spawn point location and how to set multiple spawn points for players.

Navigation

How to set one spawn point

1. Go to the game servers panel and select your Project Zomboid server.

2. Go to the “Files” tab and follow this path:

/home/container/?/Zomboid/Server/main.ini

3. Edit the “main.ini” file and find the “SpawnPoint” line. Enter the spawn point coordinates here. Click “SAVE CONTENT” to save this file.

4. Go to the “Console” tab and restart your server with “Restart” button.

How to set multiple spawn points

1. First, log in to our control panel and select your Project Zomboid server.

2. Go to the “Mods” tab and install the mod called “Custom spawn”.

3. Installing the modification will create two new files called “main_spawnregions.lua” and “main_warehouse.lua”. To edit them, go to the “Files” tab and follow the following path:

/home/container/?/Zomboid/Server

4. Edit the file “main_spawnregions.lua”, where you will find one line disabled.

5. Remove “- -” to activate it. Select “SAVE CONTENT” to save the changes to the file.

6. Edit the file “main_warehouse.lua”. Enter the coordinates of the selected spawn points here. Select “SAVE CONTENT” to save the changes to the file.

7. Go to the “Console” tab and restart your server using the “Restart” button.
