Header image

Project Zomboid is a survival game that attracts fans of post-apocalyptic themes. Managing a server in such a dynamic game can be quite a challenge, especially when players do not follow the established rules. In such situations, the administrator can take decisive action and kick unwanted players to ensure the best possible experience for the remaining players. In this guide, we will discuss how you can temporarily kick someone from the server and how to permanently block someone (ban). You will also learn how to reverse your decision to ban selected users.

How to ban player

If you want to ban a user on your Project Zomboid server, first log in to the server as an administrator.

Once you are on the server, press ENTER to launch the chat window and enter the following command:

/banuser [Username]

If you want, you can also block the user’s IP and enter the reason for the ban. In this case, use the following command:

/banuser [Username] -ip -r [Reason]

In addition to username or IP, you can also block the SteamID of a selected player by entering this command:

/banid [SteamID]

You can change your mind and unban selected user/SteamID at any time:

/unbanuser [Username]
/unbanid [SteamID]
