In regular Minecraft, getting sticks is ridiculously easy — you just punch a tree, craft some planks, and make sticks.
But in RLCraft, nothing is ever that simple. You can’t just punch a tree with your bare hands and get wood.
And that’s where the real adventure begins — because sticks are needed for almost everything:
- crafting your first flint tools,
- making torches,
- crafting knifes, shovels pickaxes and many more,
- and even fueling your furnace.
So if you’re just starting your RLCraft journey — your life literally depends on sticks.
Ways to get Sticks in RLCraft
Tree Leaves
One of the easiest and most reliable ways to get sticks early in the game is by breaking tree leaves with your bare hands. You can find them almost everywhere — in forests, on plains, or near villages. Just walk up to a tree and start breaking its leaves, and there’s a pretty good chance you’ll get a stick or two. This method is completely safe, requires no tools or crafting, and is perfect for beginners.

Break Wooden Logs
This method requires some basic tools but works great once you’ve reached the mid-early stage of the game. At the beginning, you can’t just punch a tree trunk with your bare hands — it won’t give you anything. Once you have a Flint Hatchet, you can start chopping down trees, and during this process, sticks will often drop as a byproduct. Simply place a log on the ground and hit it with your hatchet — and that’s it.

Chests in Villages
Village chests are a great source of easy materials, especially if you’re just starting out and don’t have any tools yet. While exploring villages, you can find different types of buildings — from farmers’ houses and blacksmiths to libraries. Inside these chests, you can find sticks as well as other useful items like food, coal, seeds, and basic tools. If you happen to find a village, make sure to search every single building.

Dead Bushes
Dead bushes are one of the simplest but often overlooked sources of sticks in RLCraft. You can find them mainly in deserts, dry biomes, and savannas — they look like small, dry twigs sticking out of the sand. When you destroy a dead bush, it drops a few sticks, and the best part is that you don’t need any tools — you can break it with your bare hands. Unfortunately, dead bushes are quite rare and easy to miss, but it’s worth keeping an eye on the sand to spot them.
