Pillager
Pillagers are one of the more dangerous types of Illagers, armed with crossbows and posing a serious threat to both players and villagers. They often appear in groups as part of village raids and sometimes patrol the land in search of victims. Dressed in red tunics with a grey belt, they will attack anyone who enters their line of sight. Pillagers are the main inhabitants of a structure known as the Pillager Outpost.
How to find Pillager Outpost in Minecraft
The Pillager Outpost generates naturally in the game world. It is usually found near villages and in biomes such as taiga, desert, or savanna. If you’re looking for this structure, you’ll be able to spot it from afar – it’s a tall, dark wooden tower surrounded by roaming groups of Pillagers. To increase your chances of finding one, it’s a good idea to explore open areas and hills, as well as search near villages.
Vindicator
The Vindicator is an aggressive mob known for its brutal melee combat style. It primarily appears in Woodland Mansions and always wields an iron axe, which it uses to attack players or villagers during raids. Unlike other Illagers, it does not use ranged attacks, but makes up for it with high attack power. A Vindicator can be recognized by its gray skin, dark clothing, and menacing facial expression. They often appear in groups, sometimes accompanied by Evokers.
Evoker
The Evoker is a rare and dangerous type of Illager known for using offensive magic. It mainly appears in Woodland Mansions and during village raids. Instead of fighting with physical weapons, the Evoker uses unique spells, such as summoning Vexes – small, flying ghost-like mobs armed with swords – and casting fang attacks, where magical fangs emerge from the ground and damage anything in their path. This makes the Evoker a threat even from a distance and capable of surprising unprepared players. You can recognize it by its long dark robe with yellow patterns and its distinct hand gestures while casting spells. Upon defeat, the Evoker drops a Totem of Undying, a unique item that saves the player from death if held in hand.
Illusioner
The Illusioner is an experimental type of Illager that does not spawn naturally in the Minecraft world. It can only be summoned using a command. This is a ranged mob armed with a bow, whose strength lies in illusion and disorientation magic. During combat, it can cast spells of invisibility and duplication, creating false copies of itself that make it difficult to identify the real one. Unlike other members of the Illager faction, the Illusioner wears a blue robe with a hood, making it easy to recognize.
