How to Get Magenta Dye in Minecraft

Magenta is one of the most vibrant and striking dyes in Minecraft. It allows you to color items like wool, glass, candles, and much more – giving them a vivid purple-pink hue. Unlike many other colors, this one can be obtained in several ways – either directly from certain flowers or by mixing other dyes together. In this article, we’ll explain which flowers can be used to craft magenta, where to find them, and which combinations will let you create it through crafting!

How to get Magenta using Allium

Allium is a small, purple flower that looks like a little ball on a thin stem. At first glance, it might seem like an ordinary flower, but it holds a magical power – it can be used to craft magenta! This is one of the most direct and efficient ways to obtain this color without needing to mix any other ingredients. Allium doesn’t grow everywhere; its appearance is limited to specific biomes like Flower Forest and Meadow. You won’t find it in regular plains among other common flowers, so locating it will take a bit of effort.

Once you’ve found this unique flower, you can start crafting magenta. Simply place it in any empty slot of the crafting table, and that’s it – you’ll be able to collect your dye right away!

How to get Magenta using Liliac

Another useful flower in the world of Minecraft is the Lilac – a tall, elegant, two-block plant that not only looks beautiful, but also serves as a direct source of magenta. This purple-pink flower stands out immediately thanks to its size and bushy appearance, resembling a decorative shrub. Lilac naturally generates in several biomes, which makes it a bit easier to find than Allium. You can look for it in places like Plains, Flower Forest, Forest, and Old Growth Birch Forest. It usually grows in small groups or as individual bushes. Just look around carefully and you’ll likely spot one.

If you need a lot of dye, this flower has a unique advantage: it can be multiplied! Simply right-click it with bone meal, and another lilac will appear right next to it – ready to be harvested for even more dye!

Once you find a lilac, you can harvest it by breaking the lower block. Then, place the collected flower into the crafting table, and you’ll receive your color – ready to use!

Mix Pink and Purple Dye

In Minecraft, you can create new colors by combining different colors in the crafting table. That’s also how you can get it! Just mix pink and purple together – and you’re done.

Pink can be obtained easily by placing a pink tulip into the crafting table. Pink tulips naturally spawn in the Flower Forest biome. Another way is by using the peony flower – placing it in the crafting table will also give you pink dye. If you’re not a fan of hunting for flowers, you can craft pink color by combining red and white.

Purple requires double crafting, as it’s made by combining red and blue.
The red dye is created by placing a red flower (such as a poppy, red tulip, or rose bush) into the crafting table. The blue can be made by placing either a cornflower or lapis lazuli into the crafting table.
Once you have both colors, simply put the red and blue into any slots in the crafting table – and that’s it, you’ve got purple dye!
