The world of Hytale is divided into vast zones, each characterized by its own climate, difficulty level, and a set of unique biomes. Zones define the overall character of the regions of the world of Orbis, while biomes are responsible for the diversity of environments, landscapes, and fauna you encounter during exploration.
In this article, we will take a look at the individual zones, discussing their climate, key biomes, and the creatures that inhabit them.
List of All Hytale Zones
Below you will find a list of all zones in Hytale, along with a detailed description of the most important biomes found within them.
Zone 1 – Emerald Wilds
Emerald Wilds is the most friendly and natural region of the world of Hytale. It is here that the world of Orbis appears in its most classic and gentle form. You will find green, life-filled biomes, and although this zone is more forgiving, it is not empty or boring – it is a very ecologically complex region of the world.
While traveling through Zone 1, you will encounter many different biomes, and in particular:
Drifting Plains – the dominant biome, mostly covered in grass, with only a few trees and gentle terrain shaping. You will mainly encounter passive animals here, which form the basic source of food during the first days of gameplay. This biome is rich in plants, fibers, and seeds that are important for crafting and further progression in the game.
The Fens – one of the more characteristic biomes, where shallow water, mud, and dense vegetation make movement difficult. The fauna here is different from that of the plains. You will encounter frogs, insects, as well as specific plants, clay, and alchemical materials.
Azure Forest – a forest biome with a cooler and darker climate, filled with dense vegetation. It is rich in wood and plant resources, and at night you will more often encounter hostile mobs.
Seedling Woods – a brighter and more sparse forest biome with younger, smaller trees and a larger amount of open space, making it easier to explore. It provides basic types of wood and plants.
Autumn Forest – a forest biome distinguished by its autumn color palette, offering completely new variants of wood and plants, which contributes to the overall diversity of Zone 1.

While exploring Zone 1, you will encounter both passive and hostile mobs that reflect the diversity of this region. The area is inhabited by animals such as cattle, sheep, chickens, ducks, deer, foxes, rabbits, rats, frogs, bats, sparrows, crows, and jackalopes, which can be found across plains, forests, and wetlands.
In addition to passive wildlife, Emerald Wilds is full of threats in the form of hostile mobs such as goblins, spiders, torks, and fen stalkers, especially at night or within specific biomes like swamps and dense forests.
Zone 2 – Howling Sands
Howling Sands is a harsh region of the world where dry terrain, extreme environmental conditions, and limited vegetation dominate. Unlike Emerald Wilds, this zone focuses on survival in an unfriendly climate, where both the landscape and the fauna themselves pose a challenge.
You will find several characteristic biomes here, with the most important being:
Badlands – a heavily eroded desert biome dominated by brown and red rock formations, steep slopes, and irregular terrain. Vegetation is rather sparse, but the area is rich in stone resources as well as dangerous creatures.
Desolate Basin – vast, open depressions of terrain with a desert-like character, where exploration can be quite risky.
Golden Steppes – a relatively more forgiving area where dry vegetation occasionally grows, resembling steppe-like terrain. There is slightly more life and space to move around, although it is still a desert zone.

During exploration of Howling Sands, you will encounter both passive and hostile mobs. You can find animals such as antelopes, horses, meerkats, and vultures, as well as more dangerous creatures like crocodiles, snakes, saber-toothed tigers, scaraks, and ferans.
Zone 3 – Whisperfrost Frontiers
Zone 3 consists of icy, northern regions of the world of Orbis, where frost, snow, and low temperatures dominate. Compared to earlier zones, this area focuses on survival in harsh conditions, and exploration requires greater caution. You will find several characteristic biomes here, including:
Boreal Reach – a cold tundra biome dominated by coniferous trees, open spaces, and snowy patches. It is relatively diverse and serves as a good transition between more temperate zones and extremely icy areas.
Everfrost – a biome completely dominated by snow and ice, where vegetation appears only sporadically and the environment is fully shaped by the winter climate.
Frostmarch – vast, open regions with the character of icy plains. Strong winds and snowy wastelands dominate here, and there is a large amount of space available for exploration.

While exploring these frozen lands, you will encounter both passive and hostile mobs. Passive animals include bison, moose, deer, rams, and mice, as well as birds such as terabirds and woodpeckers. You should also watch out for aggressive creatures such as polar bears, yetis, fauns, outlanders, and powerful beings like ice dragons.
Zone 4 – Devastated Lands
Devastated Lands is the most hostile region in Hytale, whose landscape bears clear signs of destruction. Fire, ash, lava, and scorched ground dominate here, and the environment is extremely dangerous. In Zone 4, you will have the chance to visit several biomes, including:
Charred Woodlands – a burned forest biome where you will find charred trees, cracked ground, and drifting ash. Vegetation is extremely limited, and the landscape gives the impression of being dead.
Cinder Wastes – open, barren areas covered in ash, cinder, and volcanic rock. The landscape is harsh and almost completely devoid of life. This is one of the more dangerous places in terms of enemies.

While exploring this region, you will encounter aggressive mobs such as Cave-Rex, Raptor, Triceratops, Dimetrodon, and Prehistoric Chicken. You will also find creatures directly connected to fire and lava, including Magma Golems, Magma Rhino Toad, and Emberwulfs. In addition, you may encounter Slothians, Macaques, as well as undead enemies such as Skeletons, which further increase the level of danger in this zone.
