Trial Chambers are multi-level underground complexes resembling temples, designed for players seeking challenge, rewards, and intense combat. These structures generate deep underground, most commonly in the deepslate layers, and are built from distinctive blocks such as tuff and copper.
One of the key features of these chambers is the Trial Spawner – a new type of spawner that dynamically scales the difficulty based on the number of players nearby. It’s a place where players can encounter mobs like the Breeze and earn rare and valuable rewards.

How to find Trial Chambers
These unique structures can be found exclusively in the Overworld – you won’t encounter them in the End or the Nether. They generate in random locations regardless of biome, at depths ranging from Y = -40 to Y = 0. Trial Chambers are always completely underground and have no entrances from the surface, so you’ll need to dig down or find access through cave systems.
While searching, keep an eye out for tuff and copper – a distinctive combination of blocks that signals you’re close. You’ll also notice copper bulbs and a regular grid of corridors and rooms, both unique to this structure. Using Night Vision potions can be helpful for improving visibility in dark underground environments.
If you don’t feel like spending time searching for Trial Chambers, there’s a much easier way. Just switch to Creative Mode and use the appropriate command:
/locate structure minecraft:trial_chambers
After using the command, you’ll receive the exact coordinates, which you can then teleport to.

Trial Chambers Tips
- Don’t activate multiple spawners at once – Each room in a Trial Chamber contains its own Trial Spawner, which begins a countdown and summons waves of enemies when a player enters. If you rush into two or three rooms without thinking, you’ll trigger multiple spawners at the same time, leading to a massive spawn of mobs, total chaos, and a high risk of death. It’s best to move carefully and systematically, clearing one chamber at a time.
- The Breeze can knock you off – This mob attacks using gusts of air that don’t deal much direct damage but have a powerful knockback effect. It can easily push you off a platform, bridge, or ladder. When fighting a Breeze, avoid standing near open edges and try to keep your back against a wall.
- Don’t forget a Night Vision potion – Even though Trial Chambers are lit, the overall light level in many rooms is still low enough for additional mobs like spiders or creepers to spawn naturally. A Night Vision potion helps you spot mobs, hidden passages, or holes in the floor before it’s too late.
- Always have an escape plan – These chambers can be deceptive. Even if you’re well-equipped, one mistake can leave you surrounded by hostile mobs. It’s worth planning an escape route ahead of time. You can also carry an Ender Pearl to quickly teleport out of danger if needed.
