How to Make a Froglight in Minecraft

To get a Froglight in Minecraft, you need to bring a frog into the Nether and wait for it to eat a small Magma Cube. In this guide, we’ll go through every step of the process, from finding a frog and transporting it to the Nether dimension to choosing the type of Froglight you want to create.

Steps to Make Froglight in Minecraft

Below you will find all the steps that will allow you to make a Froglight in Minecraft.

Find a Frog

To start the whole process, you need to find a frog in the game world. Frogs naturally spawn in biomes such as Swamp and Mangrove Swamp, and they are easiest to find near water.

Frogs are not aggressive and can be easily led using a lead, so once you find one, take it with you.

Lead the Frog to a Nether Portal

Once you have a frog, you need to bring it near a Nether portal. Use a lead to control it more easily, especially if you have a long distance to travel or more difficult terrain.

Enter the Nether with the Frog

When you reach the portal, release the frog next to it, because the lead can break when entering, and the frog will stay behind. Position the frog as close to the portal as possible so it can walk into it on its own. If it has trouble doing that, try gently pushing it inside.

Find a Small Magma Cube

Once you and the frog enter the Nether, you will need to find a Magma Cube. They most commonly spawn in biomes such as Nether Wastes and Basalt Deltas, so those are the best places to look.

Remember, it must be the smallest size, because only small Magma Cubes can be eaten.

Let the Frog Eat the Magma Cube

When you bring the frog to a small Magma Cube, you just need to wait a short moment. The frog will attack on its own and eat the small Magma Cube, so you don’t have to do anything.

Once the frog finishes the attack, a Froglight block will automatically appear.
