7 days to Die Cement Mixer – Crafting and Uses

In 7 Days to Die, you will often come across broken Cement Mixers while exploring buildings or construction sites. Unfortunately, these machines do not work and cannot be repaired or used for crafting. They only serve as a source of additional materials when dismantled.

To actually use this workstation, you need to craft your own functional Cement Mixer. It is a very important mid-game element, as it is used to produce Concrete Mix – a key material for building durable bases that are essential during Blood Moon.

How to Make a Cement Mixer in 7 Days to Die

To craft a Cement Mixer, you need a Workbench where you will combine the following materials:

  • 25 Forged Iron
  • 4 Spring
  • 1 Engine
  • 10 Mechanical Parts

Keep in mind that the Cement Mixer recipe is not available from the start. You must reach the required skill level in the Forge Ahead magazine series – specifically 30/75 – to unlock the ability to craft it.

Components such as Spring, Engine, and Mechanical Parts are primarily obtained by dismantling cars using a wrench. While doing so, you will also collect large amounts of iron, which can be smelted in a Forge and turned into Forged Iron, the key ingredient required for this recipe.

Cement Mixer Usage

Here is the list of items you can craft in the Cement Mixer:

1. Concrete Mix:

  • 1 Crushed Sand
  • 1 Small Stone
  • 1 Cement

Concrete Mix is one of the most important building materials in the game. It is used to upgrade blocks to the concrete tier and to create highly durable defensive structures. It is especially crucial in the mid game, particularly when building bases for Blood Moon. Concrete constructions can withstand significantly more damage than wood or cobblestone, which is why mass-producing Concrete Mix is essential for long-term survival.

2. Asphalt:

  • 8 Crushed Sand
  • 17 Small Stone
  • 5 Oil Shale

Asphalt is mainly used to build roads and hardened surfaces. It is not essential for defense, but it can be useful if you want to create an aesthetic runway for a gyrocopter.

3. Crushed Sand:

  • 1 Small Stone

Crushed Sand is an intermediate material needed for producing various building materials.

4. Gravel:

  • 10 Crushed Sand
  • 10 Small Stone

Gravel is a construction material used in some crafting recipes and has moderate importance in the game.

5. Stone:

  • 4 Cement
  • 10 Crushed Sand
  • 18 Small Stone

Stone is a building material that may have its uses in later stages of the game.
