SpongeForge is a modding platform for Minecraft that allows plugins to run on servers using Forge. SpongeForge combines the functionality of SpongeAPI with Forge, enabling the creation and management of advanced features and modifications on servers, significantly increasing their capabilities. Like other Minecraft server modifications, SpongeForge has multiple versions that can be tailored to individual servers. Changing versions can bring many benefits to both players and server administrators. Each new update offers numerous improvements that increase server stability and performance, fix various bugs, and introduce new content. As a result, these aspects enhance the overall appeal of the server to players. In this guide, you’ll learn how to change the version of your SpongeForge server step by step using our intuitive game server panel.
How to change Minecraft SpongeForse server version
Before changing the server version, prepare it by deleting all files. Unfortunately, this is an irreversible process, so we suggest making a full backup of the server and saving it on your local computer.
To delete server files, go to our control panel. Select your SpongeForge server from the list and go to the “Files” tab to access all files. Select all files using the checkbox in the upper left corner. At the bottom of the window you should see a “Delete” option.
Permanently deleting all files will require you to confirm your decision by selecting “Delete” again.
After deleting the server files, you can go to the official SpongeForge website where you will find a list of all available versions. Go to the link below to choose the version that meets your expectations.

Once you have made your selection, you can start configuring your server. To do this, go to the quick configuration tab – “Startup”. Here you will find the “SPONGEFORGE VERSION” window where you must enter the new server version.
To confirm the server change you will have to reinstall it. To do this, go to the “Settings” tab and select the “Reinstall Server” option.
Reinstallation is an irreversible choice, so you will have to confirm it again with “Yes, reinstall server”.
