How to Get Pink Dye in Minecraft

Pink dye is a popular colorant used for dyeing wool, leather armor, beds, banners, and more. It can be crafted in several ways depending on which flowers or materials you have on hand. To make it, you’ll need a Peony, a Tulip, or a combination of red and white.

How to make it using Peonies

Peony is one of the decorative plants in Minecraft that can also be used to create dye. It is a tall, two-block-high plant easily recognized by its dense pink flowers. Peonies only spawn in specific biomes, so finding them might take some time if you don’t know where to look. To locate them, you should head to Plains, Sunflower Plains, or Flower Forest biomes. In these areas, they grow randomly among the grass, usually in small clusters. Since the Peony is significantly taller than most other plants, it stands out and is easy to spot. It can be collected by hand, as no tools are required to harvest it.

Once you’ve gathered a Peony, you can use it directly to craft pink. It’s one of the simplest and most efficient methods of obtaining this color. All you need to do is open the crafting table and place the flower in any slot. You’ll instantly receive two units of the desired dye.

How to make it using Pink Tulips

Pink Tulip is one of the four tulip variants found in Minecraft. It is a single-block flower that doesn’t grow just anywhere – you can find it exclusively in the Flower Forest biome. This is the only biome where all tulip colors spawn naturally, including pink ones.

Tulips appear randomly among the grass, usually alongside other types of flowers. If you’re specifically looking for this color, it’s a good idea to bring some bone meal to speed up flower generation. Harvesting this plant doesn’t require any tools – you can simply collect it by hand.

Just like when crafting with a Peony, the Tulip needs to be placed in the crafting table. You’ll instantly receive your desired pink as a result.

How to make it by mixing red and white

If you don’t have those two beautiful plants on hand, there’s an alternative way to obtain the dye by combining two primary colors: white and red. To do this, you need to gather red (preferably from a poppy or red tulip) and white (crafted from bone meal), then combine them in a crafting table. This method is especially useful if you have a stockpile of skeleton bones and plenty of red flowers.
