How to use custom map on a BeamMP server

BeamMP is a popular modification for BeamNG.drive that enables multiplayer gameplay on dedicated servers. One of the biggest advantages of this platform is the ability to add custom maps, allowing for even greater variety and customization of gameplay. In this guide, I will explain step by step how to upload custom maps to a BeamMP server, where to download the necessary files, and how to configure them correctly.

How to install custom map

If you are still looking for custom maps you can use the official BeamNG website: https://www.beamng.com/resources/

1. Go to control panel and select your BeamMP server.

2. Navigate server files and follow this path:

/home/container/Resources/Client

3. Click “Upload” to upload the .zip files of the selected maps.

Usually, .zip files of custom maps are larger than 100MB. In this case, uploading them via the control panel will be impossible – in this case, use SFTP. Run your favorite file uploader and log in with the data available in the “Settings” tab.

4. Edit ServerConfig.toml file, find “Map” property and enter map name.

5. Restart server.
