Minecraft Animals: Everything you need to know about Bee

Minecraft Bee

Bees are some of the most interesting and useful mobs in the game. They are neutral and can be found near nests that spawn in biomes such as Meadow, Plains, Mangrove Swamp, Flower Forest, Birch Forest, and Cherry Grove.

Each bee collects nectar from flowers, returns to its hive, and converts it into honey. In the process, it can pollinate crops, speeding up their growth – a great feature for players focused on farming.

How to tame a Bee in Minecraft

In Minecraft, bees can’t be tamed in the traditional sense. The key is to provide them with the right environment so they choose to stay permanently at your base. Place a beehive or bring a natural bee nest, then plant plenty of flowers nearby, as bees collect nectar from them. When bees have access to food and a place to live, they will naturally decide to remain in the area. This way, you’ll ensure that bees will always accompany you around your base.

Breeding bees in Minecraft is very simple and also extremely useful if you want to create your own bee farm. All you need to do is approach two adult bees and click on them with any type of flower. The bees will enter love mode, and a baby bee will appear. The young bee will automatically assign itself to the nearest hive or nest, so it’s important to prepare enough homes in advance. You can speed up its growth by feeding it more flowers. Regularly breeding these mobs allows you to quickly grow your bee population, which is very helpful when building large farms.

Minecraft Bee Farm

Starting your own bee farm is a great way to collect honey and create an aesthetic, functional feature in your Minecraft base. To get started, you first need to find bees in the game world. The steps you need to follow:

  1. Wait until the bees return to the nest in the evening.
  2. Use the Silk Touch enchantment to collect the nest with the bees inside.
  3. Transport the nest back to your base.
  4. Plant flowers around the nest.
  5. Place a campfire under the nest to prevent bees from becoming aggressive when collecting honey.

After some time, the bees will fill the nest with honey. To collect it, approach the nest with a bottle and right-click. Optionally, to collect honeycombs, you’ll need to use shears instead.
