Zombies in 7 Days to Die come in various variants, each with its own behavior and level of threat. From basic enemies to dangerous special types capable of destroying bases, understanding zombie types is essential for survival.
Full List of Zombie Types in 7 Days to Die
Zombies in 7 Days to Die are divided into several main types:
Normal Zombies
Normal Zombies are the most commonly encountered enemy type in 7 Days to Die. They do not possess any special abilities or unique attacks, which makes them the easiest enemies to defeat compared to tougher or special zombie variants. They can usually be killed using basic weapons; however, for unprepared players they can still pose a threat, especially when attacking in groups.
As the game progresses, most normal zombies can appear in feral or radiated variants. Feral zombies are faster, stronger, and more aggressive, while radiated zombies regenerate their health, requiring continuous damage to eliminate them effectively.

Tough Zombies
Tough Zombies are still considered normal zombie variants; however, they are characterized by significantly higher health and increased damage. Because of this, they are more difficult to defeat, especially during the early stages of the game. Their main advantage is durability, as they are able to withstand far more hits before going down.
To deal with tough zombies effectively, players need better weapons and must manage their stamina carefully. Similar to regular zombies, tough zombies can appear in feral and radiated forms, which makes them faster, more aggressive, and even harder to kill.

Special Zombies
Burn Victim
Burn Victim is most commonly found in burned biomes, where its charred body blends in with the surroundings. At first glance, it may seem harmless, but it is easy to overlook, making it a sneaky enemy during exploration. It does not have any unique abilities aside from applying a burning effect during melee combat, which is why it is best dealt with from a distance.

Crawler Zombie
Crawler Zombie moves in a very unusual way, crawling along the ground, which makes it difficult to spot – especially in tall grass, rubble, or dark interiors. This allows it to easily surprise the player and pose a serious threat, as standard melee attacks often fail to hit it effectively.

Demolisher
Demolisher is a heavily armored zombie that appears in the later stages of the game. Its most dangerous feature is the explosive charge mounted on its body – if the player accidentally hits this device, the Demolisher will trigger a detonation that can severely damage a base or kill an unprepared player.

Wight
Wights appear mainly in later horde waves, in wasteland cities, and in caves. Unlike most zombies, they are not limited by daylight and can chase the player both during the day and at night. Additionally, they are capable of destroying walls and structures, which makes them one of the biggest threats to poorly fortified bases.

Mutated Zombie
Mutated Zombie is distinguished by its unnaturally deformed body and chaotic movement. Instead of a slow approach, it rushes toward the player with brutal aggression, delivering powerful melee attacks.

Infected Police Officer
Infected Police Officer is characterized by a very large amount of HP and a unique attack method – instead of standard melee attacks, it can spit a corrosive substance at range, which not only deals damage but also destroys blocks and the surrounding environment.

Screamer
Screamer is a special type of zombie that appears when the player generates too much noise or activity in one location. Once it detects the player, it begins to scream loudly to attract other zombies. The best strategy is to kill the Screamer as quickly as possible, because as long as it remains alive, it can continuously call in additional groups of enemies.

Spider Zombies
Spider Zombie is distinguished by its unusual movement, as it crawls on all fours and, at night or during hordes, can suddenly accelerate and leap long distances toward the player. Its attacks are aimed at the lower parts of the body, which means encounters with it can result in leg injuries that make escaping much more difficult.

Animal Zombies
Zombie Bears
Zombie Bears are extremely aggressive and powerful, and compared to regular bears they have a massive amount of health and deal tremendous damage. Fighting them is extremely risky, and engaging in melee combat is strongly discouraged.

Zombie Dogs
Zombie Dogs, unlike most zombies, run faster than the player and can easily catch up and attack, making them one of the most dangerous enemies in open areas. They are able to sense the player through walls and usually attack in groups, which further increases the threat.

Zombie Vultures
Zombie Vulture is a fast enemy that flies above the player, giving it high mobility and allowing it to attack from the air.

It can quickly close the distance and deal damage at close range, which is why it is best to eliminate it with ranged weapons before it reaches you.
